NOPD Reserves

New Orleans Reserve Police Foundation - Supporting those who volunteer to serve and protect

The Reserve Division is comprised of approximately 80 men and women who come from all walks of life, but share a common interest in law enforcement and helping the community. Reserve officers have met all of the NOPD qualification requirements and have completed all phases of NOPD police recruit training at the Municipal Training Academy and on the streets of New Orleans during Field Training. As a result, the Reserve Division officers are fully-commissioned police officers who work side-by-side with the full-time police officers of the NOPD and are held to the high standards demanded of the full-time officers.

The Reserve Division has officers that work in virtually all of the units within the NOPD, including district patrol, mounted, motorcycle, narcotics, task force, and SWAT. The reserves are commanded by a full-time NOPD Captain and support staff. Not everyone has what it takes to become a police officer in the NOPD, but if you share our interests and a deep commitment to serving the citizens of New Orleans, please go the official NOPD Reserve website at http://secure.cityofno.com/portal.aspx?portal=50&tabid=22.
